Good news: if you work in New York State and you make minimum wage, you are likely getting a raise.
Effective December 31st, many workers in New York State will receive an increase in their pay, and will continue to get incremental increases during the next few years until the minimum wage reaches $15 an hour in 2019.
The pay increase will come fastest for minimum wage workers with larger New York City employers. Workers in fast food, home care, and the tipped wage industries may be subject to different rates
Employees have a right to minimum wage regardless of their immigration status.
